A Sailor's
Words Of Wisdom
There will be good times and there will be bad times
And we'll all have our share.
But through life I've found the toughest affair,
May not always be what seems like a life changing situation,
Such as loss of a limb,
But what people can consciously
Do to people, now that can be a real sin.
So remember the old saying
"treat folks like you'd want folks to treat you."
Now that doesn't mean we'll always be perfect, that's for sure.
And giving forgiveness can be a cure.
So go spread peace and love all around.
For ever good deed done Heavens Light shall shine down.
Captain Jim
Through life there will be many treasures all around
and you won't have to dig deep into the ground.
But you must keep your eyes and mind open for them to be found.
For life is very short you see,
so appreciate the ones who love you, indeed.
Give it your best each and every day.
Have goals, dreams and faith to be the light that guides your way.
Cap'n Jim
Let the faithful winds blow
and fill your sails so
you - a ship can make your
journeys never saying I had
to quit.

Follow Your Dreams
While pursuing distance dreams your bright hopes turn to grey,
Don’t wait for reassuring words or hands to lead the way.

For seldom will you find a sole with dreams the same as yours.
Not often will another help you pass through un-tried doors.

If inner forces urge you to take a course unknown,
be ready to go all the way, Yes, all the way alone.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t draw lessons from the best;
Just don’t depend on lauding words to spur you on your quest.

Find confidence within your heart and let it be your guide.
Strive ever harder toward your dreams and they won't be
denied.

Things will get better
When things aren’t going well for you and times
aren’t what they should be,
Just focus on the positive and think about what
could be.

Acknowledge what has happen - don’t lose sight of
lessons past -
But don’t allow the negative distracting thoughts to
last.

Take what you’ve learned and start from there;
Draw strength from your frustrations; and let the
added since of purpose be your new foundation.

It’s hard to follow any plan precisely to the letter.
Though life right now is difficult, things will in time
get better.
Bruce B. Welmer
Don’t give up
At times you may experience frustrations or a tear.

You may endure a set back, lose momentum, tumble down.
A former look of confidence may turn into a frown.

With any goal that’s worth achieving strength of heart will matter.
Nothings ever handed out upon a silver platter.

Such a challenge draws upon the very best of you,
Bring into focus the objectives that you pursue.

And if you have to reconsider how you will proceed,
You will have stories of new self- knowledge you can wisely heed.

And you can say that set backs have made the going slow;
But they have also given you some valued time to grow.
Bruce B. Welmer
Be yourself
The world would like to change you; there are pressures all
around.
You must decide just who you are, then firmly hold your
ground.

You have an image of yourself, an ideal since of you;

You know what you are good at, and you know where your
talents lie;
But if you are ruled by others, your uniqueness could pass by.

Remember  there is much to learn; but all new things aren’t
so good.
Wisdom lies in what you’ve learned and what you have
withstood.

So be yourself don’t allow the world to take control.
Preserving your identity is life’s most precious goal.
Bruce B. Welmer
Believing In Tomorrow
Every day you’re moving forward.
All decision past are done.

All your choices lie before you.
New directions have begun.

All your errors will not vanish.
All regrets won't be erased.

Life is lived but once,
And sadly it can never be retraced.

You can try to live it better.
You can learn from your mistakes.

You can build a new Tomorrow,
Even if the past still aches.
Bruce B. Welmer
Thank You For Caring
When someone does a thoughtful thing that makes you warm
throughout,

When someone lends a helping hand, finds ways in which to
share,
When someone makes you fill secure by always being there,

When someone senses there are times when you have special
needs,
When someone gives you inner strength through words as
well as good deeds,
When someone seems to take an interest in just how you’re
faring,
It’s time to tell that special person - thanks so much for caring.
Bruce B. Welmer

For every minute you are angry you lose 60 sec. of happiness.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom
to know the difference.

Little deeds of kindness, little words of love, help to make Earth happy like the heaven above.

We all will stumble, every one of us. That’s why it’s important for us all to go hand in hand.

Miracles happen to those who believe in them.

Look up not down, look forward not back, look out not in, lend a hand, be a friend.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
The Winner
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost,
For out in the world you'll find,
Success begins with a persons will.
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win the prize.
Many a race is lost, before a step is run.
Many a coward fails, before his work's begun.
Think big and your deeds will grow.
Think small and you'll fall behind.
Think that you can and you will.
It's all in the state of mind.
Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later the man who wins.
Is the one who thinks he can.

THE
WINNER
The Winner poem that is below is by an unknown author. Jim's Mom with her
calligraphy penmanship wrote out this poem and placed it in a frame. It was given to
Jim at a young age. He carried it through his journeys in life, packing it and unpacking
it wherever he would land. It still hangs on his wall to this day. A bit faded but
readable from time to time to reassure his determination in life.

When Jim started his Magical Adventure as Captain Jim he thought this would be a
great gift to give the birthday child. He used his computer to generate pirate graphics
to make it interesting for the young but the words of wisdom to read as they grew
older. To remind them of that magical moment and that they are always a Winner!
